About Monica
My name is Monica but my carer calls me Moni. I am a 5 year old Shitzu, Poodle cross. I'm an ex-breeding dog so as you can imagine my first five years have been tough. Since I've moved into foster care I've discovered some wonderful things about the world!
I LOVE pats and cuddles!
Going for walks makes me so happy, swimming makes me happy, sleeping on the couch makes me happy, sleeping on the bed makes me happy, curling up next to my foster mum makes me happy and being held in her arms is the best thing ever!
I've discovered cats (not bothered), other dogs (I'm a bit hesitant to begin with), kids (preferably older) fluffy blankets, soft dog beds, tasty food...but my best discovery of all is that not all humans are bad. I would love nothing better than to have you pat and love me.
My ideal fur-ever home would be one that sees me as another member of the family. I want to be involved in your life as much as possible. I absolutely adore being part of my foster family where I am treated kindly, with love and respect. My heart is full of love to give.
My temperament is calm and loving. Although I have some residual anxiety relating to my younger years (I don't particularly like walking on a lead and require further training), I am fully housetrained, don't bark and take well to learning new commands. I would love to be adopted by a family that will be home during the day so I am not left on my own for long periods of time. Having had the company of lots of other dogs for the first 5 years of my life, I would be much happier in a household with another canine companion. If I am to be the sole canine in the household, I would hope that you are at home during the day and night to lavish lots of love and attention on me.
If I sound like the perfect dog for you, please contact my foster carer for further information.
