About Toby ~ Border Collie x (on trial 6/2/2019)
Hey there friend! My name is Toby, and if there is one thing I love, it’s running! I am a 2year old Border Collie X and my foster mum adores me because I am almost perfect, or so she says.
I am a larger sized boy, who is incredibly quiet and gentle with my foster brothers and sisters. Apart from a good run, I love cuddles. I’d like to be apart of the family, because right now I enjoy lounging watching episode after episode of coloured flashing pictures on Netflix with my foster family.
My foster mum says I am a good boy because I sit for my dinner, and don’t gobble it down in two seconds like my foster brothers and sisters. I am pretty good at coming when my mum calls and I am picking up on other basic commands. My foster family think I am pretty smart. I am even learning to pace my walks, because I am a bit of a puller. I swear I am working on it!
I could be a family member with or without an animal companion, I don’t think that I would be fussed either way as long as I am exercised everyday and get to live inside with my family. I do love a wrestle with my foster brother though, and when my teeny tiny foster sister tries to play, I lay down and let her think she is boss.
I love the ball. I will run as long as you allow me. Except when I am tired I tuck it between my front paws and say mum, Give me a rest, please.
I am a pretty good sleeper. I sleep in a crate at the moment and don’t make a peep until my mum lets me out in the mornings. I should say though, that I do get a bit scared of storms, so you’ll have to give me extra cuddles when it is stormy.
I am fully toilet trained, and use the doggy door as I please when nature calls. I am not much of a barker either.
It took me a little while to settle into my new home and I suffered a bit of anxiety with the big change from the pound to my foster home. But my mum says that she is proud at how settled I have become in the last few weeks. I am getting nice and fat too! I was a little on the skinny side.
My mum says that I am incredibly cute because I have a funny way of getting her attention. I sit really close, pop my head on her lap and nudge under her hands for pats. I am always quick to remind her to keep patting when she gets distracted with another nudge of my head.
