About Sid
Will you give Sid the gift of a furever family this holidays?
Sid is a striking 3 year old Great Dane x Labrador mix, with a gorgeous chocolate coat and heart-melting brown eyes. Despite his mix, he is not a very large dog and weighs in at a modest 35kg.
Sid has lived through a lifetime of heartache in his short life, and has been misunderstood on more than one occasion. He is a long-time AMR kid who is dearly loved by the team. It is long overdue that Sid has a family he can call his own, and to help him continue working on his confidence and his sense of "home".
When settled and confident within his environment, Sid is an extremely easy-going bloke. He is eager to please and thrives on knowing his place and role within the home. He also boasts a repertoire of commands and is extremely well-mannered. He is completely house trained (even puts himself to bed!), sits and waits patiently for meals, and does not bark.
While Sid is not a high-energy dog, he benefits from daily stimulation, including regular walks and training games. He walks perfectly on a loose lead, and has had much training to not be lead-reactive. He has met many dog friends on his walks.
He enjoys the company of other dogs, but can play quite exuberantly and, due to his size, is not suitable for homes with small-breed dogs.
More than anything, Sid loves being around his human companions, and is great with children.
Sid would benefit from being a part of a quiet family, who are home often and committed to ensuring his training continues. A home with six foot fencing and no cats or small-breed dogs. Before adoption, it is a prerequisite that Sid has a meet and greet with all family members (human and furry) and a home visit is conducted by the member of the AMR team
