About Tigger
Tiger *looking for a very special home*
Tiger was diagnosed with a severe heart Murmur at 3 weeks of age. He had a ultrasound at the time to attempt to diagnose the cause of his heart murmur, but due to his age and size, we were not able to reach a definitive diagnosis. However, the most common cause of a loud heart murmur in such a young cat is a ventricular septal defect i.e. a hole in an internal wall of the heart.
Despite Tigger’s murmur, he has thrived and grown normally. He was desexed at 7 weeks. It is possible that Tigger may enjoy a normal length and quality of life despite his condition, as many cats with this condition do. However, it is important to know that Tigger’s heart health may worsen at any time. It is recommended he have a general health check performed on him by a veterinarian every 6 months.
