About Meg
Dear girl Meg arrived not long after weaning her puppies (possibly her second or third litter according to the vet). She’s been living in an enclosure for goodness knows how long and seeing her plight, the Ranger was able to persuade the owner to surrender her for a better life.
Meg arrived a bit thin and covered in ticks, but was otherwise ok. A vet check and necessary health treatments, a nice bath and good food have put Meg on the road to begin her journey to a better life.
When she first met other dogs, she was a bit frightened at first, but quickly overcame her fear. In my home and yard, she checked out absolutely everything, like she’d never seen a flowerpot, a doormat, a chair, a bed, the garden hose - and perhaps locked away in her enclosure, she’d never encountered those things.
It was such a thrill to see her break into a joyous gallop when she realised she was free and surrounded by a large garden. Oh and the water trough, she thought it was heaven, to cool her belly in, then to take turns, leaping in and out of with the other dogs.
Meg is very good both on and off leash - she doesn’t run off when she’s in the open and comes when called.
She’s great with other dogs and loves to play with them. Toys are a learning curve and she will occasionally pick one up now and toss it in the air - in the beginning she really didn’t have a clue what they were for.
Meg isn’t a big dog, but she’s quite long.
After her boring life in a hot enclosure, breeding litters of puppies, I can picture her running flat strap along the beach, leaping in and out of the water, enjoying the sand, the freedom, ...............I’m allowed to dream for her.
Meg is in care at Moree, NSW.

Adoption details
Please apply through Petrescue.
We don’t require a formal application, but would like to hear about the home and lifestyle you can offer Meg. For example, whether you rent or own your home (whether you have the landlord’s permission to have a dog), who your family consists of and their work hours. Do you have another dog for companionship and play if you are full time workers?
What sort of activities/outings do you plan on taking her on and how often.
