About Buddy
Full of love and affection is bubbly Buddy. He would love nothing more than to play and snoop about with an active family.
Buddy has had to have a full body clip as his coat was extremely matted and his long locks could not be saved. Being a ShihTzu cross breed Buddy's hair grows very quickly and gets matted easily so he will regular grooming to keep him looking his best.
Buddy has mild luxating patella's, which is very common in smaller dogs - this means his knee caps have a tendency to dislocate. Currently they are not causing Buddy any problems and may never, however, it is possible that he may require medical or surgical treatment for this condition later on.
While Buddy is an older dog, don't let that deter you. He has a loving personality and will make a great pet for the right person. Buddy may, however, soon require veterinary treatment for diseases of old age such as arthritis and heart disease. Please don't be put off by Buddy's age because, with the right care, he has many more years ahead of him.
Due to his previous diet Buddy has had to have a dental during his stay at the shelter. He will need plenty of bones and dental chews to prevent any further tooth decay, as well as regular check ups at a veterinary clinic.
