About Lucy
Meet Lucy,
Lucy is the sweetest 5year old Pug Cross Beagle she is a tiny 8kgs. Lucy has had abit of a rough start to life and as a result was a very scared and abit of an anxious dog. She hadn’t had any exposure to being in new environments or meeting new people.
Her foster carer has started the training from scratch with Lucy and taught her how to enjoy being be a dog.
Lucy now walks on a lead and absolutely loves going for walks. She can get overwhelmed at times but recovers well and puts her trust in her human to keep her safe and secure.
Lucy is very much a companion dog and adores being wherever her human is. A home where Lucy would love a home where her owner is home more often then not.
Being a pug cross beagle Lucy loves her food and sniffs out the treats wherever they are hidden. Watching Lucy maintains a healthy weight is extremely important. Her breed combinations don’t mix well with being overweight.
Lucy currently gets fed meals for muts aswell as lots of fresh meat and bones.
Lucy is very shy with new people but bonds very strongly with people once she gets to know them.
She is very much a mummies girl and can’t get enough of her foster mum.
Lucy can be unsure around kids as they can be abit unpredictable for her. She has bonded stronger with the females in her life and will take longer to bond with any males
Older kids she will do well with.
Lucy use to be anxious in the car but now that she realises she gets to go fun places she is always keep for a car trip and jumps in with enthusiasm.
Lucy is good with other dogs she especially loves dogs similar size to her. She does take a while to bond with new dogs but is getting more and more confident everyday around new dogs.
It took her 3 weeks to warm
Up to the other dog in foster care. She is currently in care with a large dog that is very chilled out. She loves to race around the yard and play rough with the other dog.
Lucy is quite active and loves to have huge zoomies in the yard. She also loves her daily walks and is very playful with her foster family.
She isn’t really interested in toys but is slowly showing abit more interest as time goes on.
Being part Beagle Lucy is not suitable to go offleash unless in an enclosed park as she will follow her nose wherever that may lead her.
Lucy has been around cats in care and keeps a distance as she is petrified of them so cats in her new home won’t be an issue:
Lucy is a very affectionate girl who loves to lick she could lick you all day. Lucy’s coat is low maintenance however she is not low shedding and will shed a fair amount.
Lucy is not fully toilet trained (this is because of the environment she was living in before coming into care) she is getting a lot better but will need to be reminded in her new home. For 99%
Of the time she is perfect.
Lucy currently sleeps in her crate of a night and doesn’t make a peep all night.
She will bark in the yard on occasion though and barks at new people (this is a fear thing and with more socialisation will stop happening)
Lucy isn’t suitable for first time dog owners. She doesn’t like being outside while your inside so a family who will include her is a must
She will get stressed if she knows your inside and she isn’t.
Lucy is an amazing loving dog who will need some ongoing training but she is guaranteed to be worth it. This girl is amazing and absolutely adorable.
Lucy loves adventures and hopes her new family are active. Ideally we would love her to go with another dog of similar size as she likes company.
