About George
Hello, I've had a bit of a rocky road, when I was first rescued from the streets where I was born, you would never see me... EXCEPT when I ran like George of the Jungle (Fast, without any grace and ran into walls 🤣) because humans were scary!
Because of this I can still be extremely timid when first meeting someone. My foster mum knows now that I can be quite the cheeky boy at night when the household has settled. I get along with other cats when introduced right, I ignore dogs if they ignore me and I like adults and older children 10 years+.
I come out the most in the evenings when I smooch up to my foster mum on the couch. When she stops scratching me I pat at her to show her how it's done and to make sure she keeps going. I'm slowly coming out of my shell with Miss 10 and some other select adults.
If you think that hard work has amazing rewards I am quite happy to be left alone during the day, I do like having another cat for company.
I love my food, playing with the light laser and my people once you've proved I'm not a chase toy.
Please come meet me, however understand I will be scared and might not be ready for pats right away.
Adoption details
Once you have decided you would like to meet or apply for one of our pets, we email out our Adoption Application. We ask that the Adoption Process be read and if comfortable with how we adopt, complete the application and email it back for processing. This takes approximately 5-7 days. If approved the pet will come for a 6 week trial. We believe it takes that long for a pet to settle. If all goes well during the trial and you wish to finalise the adoption we email all vet certificates and change of microchip forms. We believe in matching the right pet with the right home so your application does not guarantee an approval.
