About Nate
I am a two and a half year old male Kelpie who absolutely loves life! Human company is my favourite thing - I enjoy cuddling up or just being around people watching them garden or just hanging out! I absolutely love a car ride and I enjoy going for walks also. I walk pretty well on a lead so no dramas there!
Since being in foster care I haven't been overly interested in playing fetch or with toys in general because I never knew how to previously. With a little guidance I'm getting the hang of it but if that's something you'd want me to do, I can definitely learn as I am smart and learn quickly. I have already learnt basic commands including sit, wait/stay & shake hands.
I've met a cat in foster care and I'm pretty interested in her but I also am hesitant. I just like to sit and watch her. She watches me too. It’s a nice hobby of ours. I've been sharing a yard with a another male dog we get along fine but I'll need extra training to not be so dominant with other male dogs. I've had several play dates with other dogs in my extended foster family and I've been great with them too! I'd make a fantastic only dog too, as I'm happy enough with human company.
I've been living at a house with a young little human and I love her! I'm very gentle and patient although my only downfall is that I get so excited to see her and other bigger humans that I tend to jump. I'm learning to control myself but boy is it hard when all I want to do is cuddle!!!
If you want a working dog, I could easily be trained for that too as I'm very athletic and clever. Either way I’ll be your best mate.
I guess you could say I'm an all rounder!
In typical Kelpie style - I'll need a home that can provide me with physical and mental stimulation, further training and a whole lot of love! If this sounds like something you can provide for me then please apply! I can't wait to grow old in my forever home as your pawfect pal.
