About King
This very handsome and friendly fellow is King. King is a great dog and as nice natured as he is good looking. King has met young kids and is gentle around them, taking treats with care. He's very dog social and enjoys being around other dogs; he has met a variety of dogs in his foster home on a small farm/acreage, and has approached all with a wagging tail, happy to meet a new friend. He was curious about the cats in his foster home, but quickly learnt that they are part of the family and not to be chased. King still watches them however if they are in the same room, to see if there is a game to be had! He has also met chickens, ducks and geese, again with a puppy curiosity but he is trusted enough to be allowed around them under supervision as they free range on the property.
King is a very chilled boy for one so young. He knows sit and will go to his bed if asked to ""go lay down"". He is learning drop but this is still a work in progress, although he learnt very quickly to wait for his dinner and the word ""grub"". King does sometimes jump up for a bear hug to say hello, but we are slowly getting him to realise this is not acceptable behaviour: in fact when asked to get down he now automatically sits in anticipation of a pat, so he's learning he gets rewarded for good behaviour. He is house trained and enjoys indoor time with his foster carers.
He is a bit cautious of new things but this is getting less and less of an issue as he settles in. He does have the most resounding bark for such a slender boy so he will be a good deterrent for any strangers on the property! Currently he has not been left on his own very long and has other dogs for company, so may prefer a home where he has people and/or a dog around more often than not, especially as he is still a young dog.
King is a really sweet boy who will make a wonderful addition to most homes who can provide him with a good level of daily exercise, companionship and lots of love.
