About Steve (On Trial at A New Home)
Steve is currently on trial in a new home!
steve was rescued by me the morning he was to be put to sleep. He was left tied up outside a pound during the night. Steve is a delightful puppy that has some manners already. He's an extremely quick learner. We have him sitting for food already and he's only been here for a day, so i think he'll respond well to training. He is currently medium size (knee height) but being only around 5 months old - i guess he still has some growing to do. He travels well in the car (although needs to be restrained as he keeps wanting to be up front with you). He is crate trained and is currently quietly sleeping in one and i've yet to hear him bark or whine. He's also left the washing on the line alone so far, hasn't chewed anything up, and hasn't had any accidents in the house. Steve will need a secure fully fenced yard, and preferably a doggy companion who is also dog friendly, as he's quite social and loves having another playmate. Due to his size and activity level, i would probably recommend a home with older kids (toddlers may get knocked over), but as he's still a puppy, he will probably settle with age and training. He'll be ready to go after desexing, so will come desexed, vaccinated, microchipped and lifetime registered. Prospective homes should be aware that a home check/yard check will be done before you are approved as his new family, as he jumps quite well, so we'll need to ensure your fencing is secure. Steve can go to a new home on 'trial' and we will take him back if you find he doesn't fit in with your family. His adoption fee will be $300 - to cover the vet work. We are not for profit and just like to recoup costs so we can save the next one. If you're interested in adopting steve, give me a call and we can see if he may suit your lifestyle
Medical notes
Steve currently has a higher population of 'mites' as the vet noticed some minor lesions so did a scraping and sure enough, there they were. This is normal on puppies (all dogs have them) it's just when the population is high that there may be symptoms. He is being treated for that at the moment - and other than that, he is a happy healthy puppy. The mite treatment is currently very inexpensive as we've caught the issue early and with his improvement with food and environment it shouldn't be an ongoing issue
