About Johnny ~ deaf Cattle Dog x (on trial 2/1/19)
Johnny is a beautiful special needs 12 week old Cattle x puppy. Johnny was born deaf but is the most beautiful puppy. He has a lovely nature and is very affectionate and loves to be near his humans and other dogs.
Johnny loves to play with his toys and other dogs and would benefit from having another friendly dog to teach him. Apart from being deaf he is a normal, healthy puppy who just loves to have a cuddle while watching TV. Johnny must be part of the family being allowed inside and must sleep inside with his family.
Johnny will need a family who are prepared to put in the extra reward training he will need. He is currently learning house training and will sit for his food using hand signals. He will always have to be kept on a lead when going out because he will have no recall ability, he is learning quickly but you must get his attention so he can see what your asking him to do using sign.
Johnny will need a secure yard he cannot go to rural fencing (eg. mesh or wire) and is only available for adoption in Newcastle, Port Stephens, Central Coast and Lake Macquarie because he will need to return to our vet for desexing at 5 months. He is not available for interstate adoption.
We always recommend puppy school when fully vaccinated. All dogs need plenty of love, affection, exercise and training and being deaf Johnny will need more than your average puppy so his new family must be committed to giving him the extra training he will need so will need a family with someone who is home a lot of the time and a friendly doggie friend would definitely be a bonus for Johnny to continue to learn from.
Johnny is currently living with 4 other dogs in Beresfield, a suburb of Newcastle. If you would like more information about beautiful Johnny you can contact his foster mum Debbie at debbie_morphett@bigpond.com
Johnny's adoption fee is $550 and includes his desexing, vaccinations and microchipping and she's been treated for fleas and worms.

Medical notes
Happy and healthy puppy.
As Johnny is not yet desexed, he is only available for adoption to Newcastle, Lake Macquarie, Central Coast and Port Stephens because he'll need to be returned to our vet for desexing when he's approximately 5 months old.

(1) The first step is to fill in our online Adoption Questionnaire:

If there is a phone number listed in the dog's profile then you can also phone for more information.
(2) If the questionnaire is approved you can arrange to meet the pet, usually at the foster carer's home or nearby.
(3) If that goes well we will arrange a property check so we can verify that your home and yard are suitable for the pet you've selected. We will ask to see photo ID.
(4) If both sides agree, then you can pay for and adopt your new family member! The two week trial begins on the day of adoption. More details of our Adoption Procedure on our website: https://tinyurl.com/adoptproc
