About Surprise!
Surprise!!
It's me! Hi! How are you doing?
I'm doing great but once I have a new home to call my own I'll be EVEN BETTER!
My name is Surprise because I was left on a SAFE volunteer's front door step one night and when she got up the next morning, it was quite a surprise to find me there!
I was pretty sick with the flu and I felt terrible - all congested and snotty and dehydrated. It was awful. But the lovely people at SAFE got vet treatment for me and made me all better.
Ever since then, I've just been having the time of my life hooning around! I love to run and jump and climb and play. I also love to unroll whole rolls of toilet paper, oops. My foster mum doesn't love that so much.
Within a couple of days of me feeling better and moving around more, my foster mum noticed that I was walking with a limp. At first she thought my leg was broken, but it was x-rayed at the vet and it turns out it is actually deformed and I don't have a knee-cap. How weird is that?! The vets thought it was pretty strange, they've never seen anything like it.
You'll notice that when I run, I don't really use that leg. It is kinda sore, though not all the time. But, it's going to have issues later on. So when I'm old enough (about 6 months) it will need to be amputated.
The nice people at SAFE will pay for that, so don't stress out about me costing you lots of money. But you will need to be able to stay in touch with my foster mum and you'll have to be able to take me for treatment at the Swan Vet in Midvale. So if you don't think you'll be able to do that, I might not be the one for you.
In the meantime, you don't have to do anything special. Sometimes I over do my playing and I need extra time to rest. And once I'm a tripod, I'll always need to live strictly indoors only to keep me safe.
I am a pint-sized girl with BUCKET loads of personality, energy and cheekiness. I am full on and sometimes I forget to put away my claws when I play, so very small children might not be perfect for me. But I would love to have the company of other animals.
If you want a super special little surprise every time you walk through your door, adopt me!
