About Louie ~ Staffy x Mastiff (on trial 24/12/18)
Meet Louie, or as we call him at our house, King Louie. Just like his namesake from the jungle book, he thinks he’s the coolest pup in this suburban jungle, and definitely a VIP. Louie is an 8 week old Staffy x Mastiff pup who is an absolute ball of energy, like most puppies his age, and next to playing with his brother, Roscoe, he loves a good game of tug of war, rope chase, or even a playful snarling wrestling match.
Louie is incredibly intelligent, active, and curious, he can be redirected quite easily for this age, although his cheeky nature gets the best of him at times. He’ll no doubt be the top of his preschool puppy class, but it will require loving firmness, patience, and consistency. Louie will need a friendly adult dog as a teacher, companion and playmate as he would be too lonely on his own. It would also be good if someone in the household doesn't work full time. You need good fencing with no small gaps. He can't go to rural fencing (eg: mesh or wire).
Staffy pups are boisterous with busy little jaws that love to chew, so without safe alternatives available and a watchful eye, things shoes and furniture can become fair game before you know it. He takes a lot of puppy naps right now, but his energy level as he grows will be pretty active from dawn to dusk. We’re working on potty training, and a lot of the time he’s successful in making it outside, but it takes prompting and frequent visits to the backyard just to see if the need is there.
Louie has no idea what he wants to be when he grows up, but adventurer and family companion is definitely on the list of possibilities. He’s a fearless little heart with fur (and heaps of belly freckles), and would be perfect for an active family or owner where he isn’t kenneled for long periods of time.
Louie’s brother Roscoe is also available for adoption.
As Louie is not yet desexed, he is only available for adoption to Newcastle, Lake Macquarie, Central Coast and Port Stephens because he'll need to be returned to our vet for desexing when he's approximately 5 months old.
For more information or to meet Louie, please contact his foster carer Christy on bella5025@yahoo.com Louie is in Cardiff, NSW (Lake Macquarie, near Newcastle).
Louie's adoption fee is $550 and includes his desexing, vaccinations and microchipping and she's been treated for fleas and worms.
