About Rhonda ~ Border Collie x Staffy (on trial 17/1/19)
Hi I’m Rhonda. I am a very affectionate 4.5 year old Border Collie X Staffy! I would probably enjoy snuggling up to someone who would pat and give me belly rubs all day, every day. I might enjoy that instead of playing with another furry friend if I were to be honest. I think I'd like living in a home where my new parents have a friend I can play with or if they don't, be home more often. I think I would fret being alone all the time.
My old owner said I am friendly with other dogs. I’d like to think so as I get along with my younger foster brother. When my foster parents are at work we both like to run around the yard during the day or laze about. One of my favourite games is tug-o-war! I’m not sure how I would get along with other pets that aren't my kind, I’ve seen cats before but haven’t been close enough to smell them.
I am toilet trained and have not had an accident since coming into care. My parents don’t have a doggy door for me to go and do my business but they let my foster brother and I out regularly for toilet breaks. My parents call me a guard dog barker. If someone comes near our fences or front door and they haven’t been invited, I will bark to let my parents know that something might be amiss! I sleep all through the night in my own bed next to my foster brother in my parents room.
I like exploring! My parents take me out for walks with my foster brother when they can. I get very excited at first as their are so many smells but I do calm down very quickly. My foster mum tries taking me on runs but I get puffed out fairly quick. I think I just need time adjusting.
I know few basic commands like “sit”, “stay” and “no” but I am being taught a few more such as “on your bed” and “drop”. I am a fast learner, especially when treats are involved!
