About Monty
Monty is a lovely gentle, little dog that needs a quite home life with a retired person or couple. He is not as outgoing as most chihuahuas and takes time to feel comfortable with strangers, A new owner will need to show him patience and understanding and let him adjust to his new life in his own time.
There are some Chihuahuas who are standoffish, but who will eventually approach people in their own good time, especially if the person isn't pushy or insistent. Monty would be best suited to someone who knows and understands the breed and perhaps has had chihuahuas in the past. He is not suitable to be around children.
Chihuahuas are comical, entertaining, and loyal little dogs and can be extremely variable - lively or placid, feisty or mellow, confident or nervous, stubborn or easy to please.
Monty does love going for his little walks each day and loves to spend time relaxing or sleeping during the hot part of the day. It is also good for him to socialise with other dogs the same size as him. He would benefit from another small dog in the home as he was raised with another chihuahua.
Monty has had a full vet medical check-up, his vaccinations including kennel cough are all current and he is ready to go to his new home.
If you would like to enquire more about this delightful little dog, please contact Nigel on (02) 6584 4992. Applications to adopt Monty are now being accepted and will be judged on dog and owner suitability.

.......................
Midcoast Dog Rescue Inc. is trying to expand its foster carer network so that we can help more dogs in need. This is a very rewarding experience and suits a variety of people. Some people, for whatever reason, are unable to make a permanent commitment to a dog, a commitment which can last for up to 15 years. Others use the fostering experience as an interim measure before committing to permanently owning a dog. If you think you could be interested in becoming a foster carer, either on a long-term or a short-term basis, and would like more information please contact Nigel on 6584 4992 or Wendy on 6584 7027.
