About Toby
Toby is a Staffy/Mastiff cross. He can be timid at meeting new people (males) but once he realises you are a friend, he is a very friendly fella and enjoys chilling out with the company of his family members. Toby gets along well with other dogs and would do great in a home as the second dog so he can have a buddy to lean on and hang out with. He loves company and his wish is to be a companion dog! If you work from home, work part-time hours, or work shifts and someone is home at most hours, our handsome Toby would love to hear from you! He has been around a child in foster care and was good with him but we do feel his ideal home would be with adults in a nice relaxed home without too many new people to meet.
Toby is a smart boy who is house trained: he will ask at the door to go out to toilet, or take himself out if the door is left open. He knows basic commands such as sit and shake, and would suit a home where he can put into practice the manners he's learned, and maybe learn some new tricks too along with getting plenty of exercise and socialisation. Toby enjoys spending time indoors with his people and his carers say he LOVES cuddles, will make himself at home on the lounge or bed but he understands 'no' and will get down onto his own bed when told that he's taking liberties!! He also likes to spend time outdoors and his fave spot is on his bed watching the birds in the yard!
Toby will require daily exercise to keep him healthy and happy. He is quite a strong dog and does pull on lead at the start of his walk but pretty soon settles into walking at a nice pace. We believe he did spend time with a kitten in his first home so may be cat tolerant.
