About Delta ~ Staffy x (on trial 23/12/18)
Staffies don’t come much sweeter than the gorgeous little Delta. It is highly likely she is a cross, but with what we do not know. Her super shiny black coat and big floppy ears make her very cute, but when she cries there is no denying, Staffy reigns supreme!
This little girl is really clever, she is already bringing a ball back in play and is a quick learner around the house. She is doing well sleeping in a crate and will wake you for the toilet if she needs. Delta will be ready to go to her forever home on the 21/12/18 as she needs her initial vet work and to reach 8 weeks of age. Please note that she will absolutely not be considered for adoption as a Christmas present. Her adoption must be a well thought out, lifetime commitment.
Being such a young pup, Delta will only be homed where someone is home more than not. She will need 4 feeds a day and regular supervision until she reaches 4 months old. She will need a fully secured yard with lots of room to run and play and another dog for company would make her very happy. That being said, if she was allowed to be in the house as part of the family she could happily be an only dog.
Our guess is that Delta will grow to a medium sized dog, but she may surprise us. We cannot reiterate how vitally important it is to commence training and socialisation as soon as possible for any pup. Socialisation is not just with people and other dogs but to as many sites, sounds, different walking surfaces, smells and life experiences as possible. The dog you end up with as an adult is entirely a reflection of the effort made as a puppy in training and positive reinforcement as they grow.
Applicants who are familiar with the Staffy breed, their quirks and needs will be viewed favourably. This will especially be the case for a home with children, who will need to be confident to deal with puppy teeth and jumping in the early months and also know respectful boundaries with a young pup. Your reward will be THE most loyal and loving companion. She adores people and lots of human contact.
As Delta is not yet desexed, she is only available for adoption to Newcastle, Lake Macquarie, Central Coast and Port Stephens because she'll need to be returned to our vet for desexing when she's approximately 5 months old.
