About Sheeba
Sheeba is a friendly and loving dog. She is a medium sized mixed breed with Staffy and Mastiff in her mix. She has a stumpy tail which most likely she was born with, and the end nicked off her ear - don't worry though, Sheeba is still a very pretty girl. She loves nothing more than to be with her people. Jumps up on adults occasionally only when she first greets them, but very responsive to voice commands. She is fully house trained and very well behaved indoors; she likes to shadow her people around initially but she will get on her bed when asked. Zero accidents indoors and can hold all night. Sheeba does not dig and rarely barks. Takes treats gently from the hand. Sheeba loves receiving pats and cuddles from children she meets however we feel is not suitable for a home with resident kids as she tends to bond strongly with one or two adults and then get jealous over them. An adult only home, or with kids over the age of 12 would be ideal.
Sheeba can be a little wary of new dogs in public generally and usually just ignores them. She has had play dates with other dogs in her yard and enjoys playing with most dogs of around her size; although she can be a little choosy at times. She is in foster care with other dogs however would probably prefer to be the only dog lapping up all the attention! She can be cat tolerant with confident dog-savvy cats but will chase if one runs. Not suitable for a home with chooks unless penned safely away.
Sheeba doesn't pull on lead. She loves her daily walks. She has great recall.
Sheeba is a sweet girl and we feel in the right home she will be a loving companion pet. Please see Medical Notes below.
Medical Notes
Adoption fee includes vet check with flea and worm treatment, vaccination, microchip (including transfer of ownership) and sterilisation. The fee does not include heartworm treatment.
Sheeba came to SAFE Bunbury suffering from Entropion. This is a condition in which the eyelid is inverted or facing inward and untreated can cause an eyelash or hair to irritate and scratch the surface of the eye, leading to ulceration or perforation of the cornea. Sheeba has had surgery to correct the condition and her eye recovered well and looks great! Sheeba's skin was inflamed upon her arrival. In our care she has received regular baths with Malaseb, flea treatments and a good diet, and also loves ocean swimming, and consequently her skin is now looking (and we bet feeling) amazing... to keep her skin healthy and avoid flare ups, in her new home she simply requires this ongoing care.
