About Rufus
Absolutely beautiful boy Rufus is on the search for his special new home!
Rufus is completely deaf, and very smart - to communicate with the humans in his life, he has a whole range of signs in his repertoire! His favourite hobbies include chasing flies and balls, playing with his toys (watch him try to carry all of them in his mouth everywhere he goes!), cosy naps at your feet, and lovely long walks around the neighbourhood. He also adores long car drives, splashing around at the beach, and hanging out with doggy pals. Basically, this gorgeous little guy is up for anything!

MY IDEAL HOME: ...would have a backyard or garden for me to play in and snooze the day away while you're out at work. I'm very content to spend time outside, but when you're home I'll need access to the house - and access to you! - so I can feel like a real part of the family.
Because I can't hear anything, I like to keep my humans in my sight - no sneaking up on me, please! - and for this reason, a child-free home is essential so I can always feel secure and relaxed.
MY ENERGY LEVEL: I looooove a good long walk whenever it's on offer, but a short daily walk around the block or to grab a coffee will be wonderful if you don't have the time for longer ones. I'll always wait patiently while you chat with your friends or read the paper - be sure to bring treats, though!
MY SUITABILITY TO CHILDREN: Little people make me very nervous, sadly, so I'm looking for a child-free home.
MY SUITABILITY TO CATS AND DOGS: I love to play with other dogs of every kind, and would be thrilled to have a pupper-friend-in-residence!
I'm not sure I'd be happy sharing my living space with a cat, but if I see one on the street it doesn't bother me at all.

Adoption details
We ask all people looking to adopt to fill in our adoption enquiry form at http://www.maggiesrescue.org/adoption-enquiry-dogs. Please use this link rather than the 'Enquire' button on the pet's PetRescue profile to streamline your enquiry.
We will then organise a time for you to meet with the foster carer and the pet you are interested in adopting.
Maggie's wants this to be a good experience for you, and we will occasionally suggest a different cat or dog as your situation may not meet the needs of the individual pet.
All our pets leave for their new homes on a two week trial. At the end of this period we will transfer the microchip to your details and the adoption is complete.
Your pet is a Maggie's Pet for Life, please consider this before adopting.
