About Cookie
Cookie is a 3 and a half year old boy with a wonderfully sweet and happy nature. He is extremely easy going, gentle and affectionate. He loves being close to his humans and gets on well with all his foster siblings. If there is a game of chasey going on the backyard, Cookie is always first in line to play. Alternatively, he also loves the life of a couch potato too! He has a zest for life and always seems to be super happy. Nothing fazes him. Even when he is growled at by another dog, he just turns and walks away with his tail wagging!
Cookie loves spending time with his human foster family and his foster siblings. He really should only be adopted to a household where he would have another dog for company or where someone is home often. He is a very social boy and loves company! When Cookie wakes up in the morning, he is super happy to see you. He is what you might call a “morning dog”! He is also quite an affectionate boy and loves coming up for cuddles.
Cookie is de-sexed, wormed and vaccinated. He walks well on a lead. He is great with medium to large dogs, but has not been tested around smaller dogs. No cats please.
While in foster care, Cookie has struck up a close friendship with Ben. You could almost call it a "Bromance". They play together and make a great team. Whilst they do not need to be adopted together, if you were interested in forming your own instant bonded greyhound family, Cookie and Ben would make a great team.

Adoption details
Step 1 - Email us at adoptions@greytgreys.org to express interest in the hound that you are looking at. If you would like more information about the dog, please call us on 0421 929-062. If we cannot take your call immediately, please leave a message and we will return your call as soon as we can.
Step 2 - We will email you back an application form and await return of the form by email. All applications must be accompanied by an application form.
Step 3 - We will contact you regarding a meet and greet (pending the suitability of your application). There may be situations where the hound that you are applying for, is not suitable to your home situation, but we might have another hound available that better suits your situation. We do not advertise our foster dogs immediately, as we give them time to settle into home life first, so we can better assess their temperament. We may have a hound in foster care who might be well suited to your family, that has not been advertised yet.
Step 4 - The meet and greet will be organised so that any other pets in your family are also present. This would preferably be done in your home, as a home check can be done to ensure that adequate fencing, shelter, etc will be provided to the hound. The adoption fee of $270 needs to be paid before the hound is adopted.
Step 5 - You take your new family member home on a 2 week trial. If you have any issues, we urge you to contact us to try and work through them, as all dogs will have some period of adjustment. If, after the 2 week trial, you feel that you need to return the dog, we will refund your adoption fee (less a $50 administration fee), upon return of the dog and all paperwork and other items that the dog was adopted with.
Our hounds are adopted with:
- collar
- lead
- muzzle
- coat
- certificate of sterilisation
- certificate of vaccination
- all our hounds have been flea treated and wormed
- information on caring for your greyhound
- access to other greyhound owners who will be very happy to help you with advice
- access to our private Facebook page for foster carers, volunteers and adopters of our hounds (a great source of advice)
