About Steel
Stunning, Strong, Sprinter, Snugly, Solid, Striking, Silly, Shiny, Superior, Surprising
That’s our Steel, all 70+ kilograms of him!
Tired of not standing out? This is your ticket to being noticed. Where ever you go with this boy at foot you’ll make heads turn. He is striking in size and in colour!
As much as he’ll make the town fall in love, he will always remind you that your the only one! That tail and bum cannot go any faster when you arrive home. He is reasonably good at containing his excitement and won’t jump up on you.
Steel is not super active, a daily walk or a rural lifestyle is ideal for him. He loves to stretch his legs and show you he’s still a silly puppy!
Steel and summer are not the best of friends! He prefers hiding in the aircon or shade at the hottest parts of the day but who doesn’t?
Being so young Steel still does need training guidance. He is working on his lead manners towards other dogs. He is fantastic on the lead until the excitement of another dog gets in the way of remembering his manners. He can be dog friendly and loves to have a bounce and play. He acts still very puppy at heart, however, slow intros with new dogs are a must and further training at ignoring dogs on walks is needed.
Steel is from a small country town where there were not many dogs to meet on walks or busy city streets. He would be happier living the country life on property with no other animals. He will need someone confident and strong to handle him as he is 70 plus kilos and is closer to your thigh than your knee in height.
His size does make training and handling him all that more challenging. He is a typical male, bottles up his feelings and then explodes when it’s all a bit too much. He will need someone who is experienced or will work with a professional to understand how to get him to feel comfortable in all situations. Training a dog with this size and strength is a different game altogether. He is hard to read when that outburst happens and will need someone who doesn’t push the limits but slowly builds his confidence. He needs to learn to be reliant on his owner to make the decision and check back in and not make decisions himself when he is unsure.
Steel is a bundle of surprises which shows he has the potential. At his foster home he had the pleasure at meeting the household cat and showed good potential in making feline friends.
Steel is crate trained, house trained and enjoys cuddles and tummy rubs. In typical giant breed style he enjoys leaning into you. He travels in the car well especially if the window is down he will stick his entire head out and let his ears fly in the wind! He's also happy to be in the back of a ute provided he's there safely.
In typical puppy style he will love to chase after toys however hasn’t mastered the fetch game. He enjoys a good tug of war, if you're up for the challenge.
Steel is looking for a large breed experienced family that has the time to continue his training and a house that is giant breed friendly, no valuables at mouth or tail height! Steel is best suited to enjoying the luxury of a home all to himself with no other animals or kids.
He's happy to have someone home or be alone while you're at work, either way, he just goes with the flow. He's a chilled out, relaxed boy who does love loads of cuddles. If you like the challenges and are a person that likes to try and understand the mind of those around you then Steel might just captivate you enough. He is not for everyone. His size makes everything that little bit harder to work through but we can promise you the outcome will be amazing.

Don't see a breed attached to one of our dogs? That's because we don't breed label dogs of unknown genetic history. We can't guess at breeds but that's okay, because we can tell you about the dog's individual personality, character, and behaviour.
