About Toby
Hi my name is Toby. I’m a pretty handsome chocolate Border Collie and I bet I’m just the ticket to complete your little family. I’m seven months old, so I still have lots of puppy behaviours going on, like chewing things or digging, and as I move into adolescence I’m hoping to have a family who will keep me active, stimulated and keep up my training. I love people and am good with kids – I’m super affectionate and would love to just hang out with you all the time if I could. I don’t enjoy hanging out for long all by myself.
I like dogs and would love to have a calm older sibling at home to play with me sometimes, and hang out with when you aren’t home. I can be pushy with dogs so my sibling should be patient and my parents should be ready to tell me when I’m getting too pushy. I have experimented with growling and barking at dogs who come towards me when I’m on the lead, so my family should be ready to help me continue appropriate socialisation, and sometimes I can fixate on a particular dog so I need to know that’s not ok.
For an active breed, I’m not super active but I definitely want you to take me for walks, and I might like to learn to go hiking or biking. I travel well in the car and learn things really quickly, so teach me some new activities and take me with you. But when you’re chilling out at home I’m pretty happy to chill out with you. I’m mostly toilet trained, but still need the occasional reminder, so I hope you’ll help me with that.
My ideal family will have a house with a yard for me to run around in, so no apartments please, and no unsecured large rural properties. Please also note I’m not to be trusted with chooks. I’m untested with cats or other small animals.
If you think you might be the ones for me, send an email to caninelifeline@hotmail.com and we’ll send you an application form. Please don't apply if you're going away over Christmas/New Year or the holidays as I'll need you around to help me settle in. Don’t dawdle cause I won’t wait long!
Medical notes
Toby has no major medical requirements.
