About Sura
Will you be Sura’s foster hero? ❤️ Please share!
We've given this gorgeous Malamute boy a new name - Sura. It means "New Life" in Inuit, which is what he desperately needs.
Sura is currently being cared for by the RSPCA after they saved him from a very cruel situation that he has had to endure for over a year. Due to the trauma he has gone through, we are completely amazed at his capacity to recover and be trusting with humans, especially men.
Since we first met him, he has made incredible progress. Initially he was too stressed and terrified to engage with humans at all, preferring to hide or pacing frantically. In a short period, with guidance and encouragement, he is starting to come out of his shell and show us the friendly, affectionate guy he is.
Sura now needs to get out of a shelter environment and into a family home, where he can continue to learn how to trust and live inside as a family pet. At this stage, we are looking for a committed foster hero for him, that will work with us on a training program to help him adjust to a normal life.
Sura needs a patient, compassionate home that will give him the space and time he needs, but also encourage his confidence and not let his past hold him back. He can be an only dog, or would thrive alongside a calm, confident female dog for company.
Sura frightens very easily and will run the second he gets scared, so he needs to go somewhere with secure fencing. Young or primary school aged children would be too loud and unpredictable for him, but older kids may be suitable.
If you have the time and heart to put into this beautiful boy, he will pay you back in spades.
