About Ruby
With her ultra-sweet nature and heart of gold, Ruby has SO much love to give her new human/s!
A very gentle, well-mannered lady, Ruby thrives on companionship, and often prefers the company of people to that of her doggy friends (though she adores them too!). She'll often nudge your hand with her head or paw to get pats, and is happiest when her body is touching yours. She loves chewing on bones to keep her teeth healthy, and enjoys car rides!
Equally ecstatic racing around a dog park or backyard, going on long walks (so many sights and smells!), or snuggling up indoors, Ruby is looking forward to a loving yet firm hand in her forever home. She's very smart - and has already learned several commands using food motivation! - but will need commitment to ongoing training from her new family. Right now, she is probably a bit too enthusiastic in her behaviour for a household with smaller children - though she is certainly delighted to meet humans of all shapes and sizes!

MY IDEAL HOME: ... will be with a single person, couple, or family with older kids who will allow me to live both outdoors and indoors with you. I love night-time cuddles and sleeping next to my human on the couch. I would REALLY like to sleep with you on your bed if I'm allowed, but will understand if this might be pushing things a bit :)
I've never really been an only dog, so it would be extra-wonderful if you have a friendly and welcoming doggy-in-residence for me to hang out with!
MY ENERGY LEVEL: Medium to high. I'll definitely need a good, long walk or romp around the dog park every day, especially if I don't have access to a big yard (I've adapted well to inner-city living in my foster home, thanks in large part to my vigorous daily exercise!) - but I won't freak out if we have to miss the odd day, eg if it's raining heavily.
MY SUITABILITY TO CHILDREN: I'll be a terrific and loyal friend to older children who are comfortable around dogs of my size.
MY SUITABILITY TO CATS AND DOGS: I'm a pretty easygoing girl - I might be okay with cats but I've never met one, so it's hard to say.
I am relaxed and happy with friendly, active dogs - even if they hassle me to play and I don't feel like it. Aggressive dogs aside (even if they're smaller than me), nothing much fazes me!

Adoption details
We ask all people looking to adopt to fill in our adoption enquiry form at
For Dogs: http://www.maggiesrescue.org/adoption-enquiry-dogs. Please use this link rather than the 'Enquire' button on the pet's PetRescue profile to streamline your enquiry.
We will then organise a time for you to meet with the foster carer and the pet you are interested in adopting.
Maggie's wants this to be a good experience for you, and we will occasionally suggest a different cat or dog as your situation may not meet the needs of the individual pet.
All our pets leave for their new homes on a two week trial. At the end of this period we will transfer the microchip to your details and the adoption is complete.
Your pet is a Maggie's Pet for Life, please consider this before adopting.
