About Melody
Melody is a young 18 month old desexed female stock coat German shepherd in care at Wilberforce in Sydney. This pretty young female shepherd is sharing her foster home with three other male shepherds and she is social and friendly with male dogs of similar size.
Melody came into care from a rural pound on the New South Wales and Victorian border. Her former owner never came to claim her and we could see this young dog had so much potential and love to give.
Melody has settled into her foster home and is affectionate and voice responsive in fact she has bonded well with her carer and is her shadow. Melody still needs some fine tuning with her manners and she still jumps up when overly excited (first thing in the morning her greeting is to give you kisses on the face). This young dog has so much love and potential that we can see her being a wonderful companion dog for a male dog of similar energy and size.
A companion dog for a caring couple who will provide her with regular walks and playtime or a family who will ensure she receives inclusion in the home and plenty of time playing with the children and where she can receives plenty of walks.
Melody has yet to be tested with cats and pocket pets.

Medical notes
Melody has been desexed, C5 vaccinated and is on monthly heart worm prevention. She is microchipped and has been given tick and flea control and wormed.
Adoption details
We have an Adoptions Manager who screens all prospective candidates as to their suitability to adopt a German Shepherd Dog.
We try to contact every one by phone but if that isn't successful we will email our application form to you, which needs to be completed and returned, or you can call us back and we can chat and complete for you. We will also ask you to provide photos of your yard and fencing to enable us to see where the dog will be kept and that they have areas of shade and shelter.
All our dogs are ready to go to their new home, so when you enquire about a dog you must be in a position to take them into your home. We are unable to hold a dog while you fix your fences or go on holiday, etc.
The successful candidate who adopts one of our dogs is provided with an information kit, ongoing support, training and advice on all aspects of feeding, training and general assistance to ensure both the new owner and our rescued dog settle into their home.
This pet has been adopted and found love with its new family.
