About Mimi
When Mimi first joined our home she was a very shy and timid girl. She would tend to stay to herself and didn’t care very much about interacting with people, and was inexperienced with things such as stairs and playing with toys. But over time we have seen precious Mimi blossom into a delightful and sweet pup.
Each day she continues to learn and discover new exciting things such as playing with her squeaky stuffed animal although she may need a bit of coaxing to get her going. One of Mimis favourite daily activities is to go on a walk around the block. Mimi is a wonderful walker and never pulls on her lead, she enjoys taking her time and always stops for sniffs. She loves to dig her nose into a bed of flowers or a bush so we always allow her the time to have a sniff. She likes to pace herself on her walks and normally will slow down when she realises that we are headed back home unless we have gone on an extended walk. Mimi does show a particular interest in small and charismatic dogs try to approach her so we try our best to create distance between the two dogs while we pass by each other and she is normally fine and will continue happily. She takes interest in larger, calmer dogs and has not had any problems with nipping or fighting when she has been socialised with other greyhounds.
Mimi prefers to spend her days napping; which can be quite hilarious at times (happy roaching and her active dreams can provide entertainment for all). She loves a good snuggle up on the couch and loves to be rubbed under her chin.
Mimi is a mature girl and isn’t keen on taking on large flights of stairs, if she isn’t feeling it she will just stop dead in her tracks. She can also be a bit clumsy at times and is known to fall off of the coach due to carelessness so we try to keep an eye on her if we see her scooting closely to the edge.
Like most older houndies, Mimi has had some teeth removed and will need a home committed to her dental care with daily brushing.
Mimi is very good at listening and knows that she is not allowed to have anything off of our plates, but she does like to sniff what is be served which is enough to satisfy her. Mimi is a very intelligent girl and it has been beneficial to her to have a stable routine such as being taken out to go potty at certain time of the day and always before bedtime. She will normally stand at the door for a few minutes but with a little bit of uninterrupted privacy she goes potty.
Mimi is such a lovely and gentle dog and would make a great addition to a happy home. Mimi takes the definition of patience to a new level and I could see her happily settling in with a young family. We are so happy to have had the time to get to know her fun and quirky personality that continuously grows as she figures out how to be a pet for the first time in her life. She is beautiful and regal girl.
