On Hold
About Tilly ~ Poodle x Spitz (on trial 8/12/18)
Hold on to your hats, here comes a tearing tornado of total cuteness, the beautiful Poodle cross Spitz, Tilly. At 4 months old, Tilly is full of puppy energy and though she looks like a teddy bear, this little girl has a firecracker personality!
She adores to sleep wherever her people are and will cuddle on the lounge, in bed or under your feet while you work. She is a snuggle bug and demands lots of attention. But when it’s time for fun, Tilly does zoomies with the best of them, attacks her toys and lets loose with flying leaps on and off anything within her reach. She is an avid jumper.
This little girl loves adventure and so her best family will be one where she absolutely must be an indoor dog and part of the family, but also allowed to be active, explore the world and given opportunity to burn her energy with walks and exercise. She will not be rehomed with small children due to her size as she could be easily injured if dropped or trodden on. As a pup with a life expectancy of 15 years or more, this will also be taken into account when choosing her forever family.
Tilly will also need a confident owner who understands the nuances of the Poodle breed or she may just try to put it over you. She’d like to think she is the boss, so training will be imperative to ensure she does not develop naughty habits like food or people guarding. She is highly intelligent and will be easy to train. We are still working on toilet training with her. Tilly is learning to be happy outside for short periods with another dog, but poodles in general, do not like to be left for long periods of time, so a home where someone is around a fair bit will be best for her.
Of course a secure yard is a non negotiable. Given that Tilly will be very popular, please consider the requirements above before applying and Tilly will absolutely not be considered for adoption as a Christmas present.
As Tilly is not yet desexed, she is only available for adoption to Newcastle, Lake Macquarie, Central Coast and Port Stephens because she'll need to be returned to our vet for desexing when she's approximately 5 months old.
For more information or to meet Tilly, please contact her foster carer Lauren on hitthesand@hotmail.com Tilly is in foster care in Salamander Bay, NSW. You can also fill out the adoption questionnaire here https://tinyurl.com/drnadopt
Tilly’s adoption fee is $700 and it covers desexing vaccinations, treatment for fleas and worms, microchipping, and lifetime registeration.
