About Trixie
Hello there. I'm Trixie here in PERTH (but enquiries to Karratha branch). I'm a grand old dame and I'd like a quiet retirement. I reckon one or two companions to devote myself to, would be just right for me. At the end of the day, I love to cuddle up on the sofa with you. I'm of a certain age now, and not in the mood for socialising with children or dogs any more. And since there are some very young children in my family now, I need a new home.
Having some working dog heritage, I'd still like to have some household jobs to do to keep me busy. So I'll keep a look out for our home . I'll growl and bark at any noises that shouldn't be there. I'm very good at this and have deterred a car thief before :) Best if I don't have a good front window view of the neighbours, though, as I can't resist letting them know they should stay on their own side of the fence. But maybe you don't like your neighbours he he! The other job - my favourite one - is I'm good at getting get rid of leftovers, especially if you leave something particularly yummy unattended on the table. Once I ate a whole box of Krispy Kreme leftovers. I never found out why they left the whole box for me. They were super yummy. I got to eat a whole leftover dinner once, too, when my owner got the doorbell. I wish more people would ring the doorbell at dinnertime. I could go a whole dinner again lick, slurp!
Which idiot said you can't teach an old dog new tricks? I really like doing training. There are still some things I'd like to learn. Most of the time I walk really well on the lead, but when other dogs walk past, I growl and pull. There are some tricks you can use to train me out of this. You could try clicker training, or a Black Dog Balance Harness and Training Lead. They're not expensive. Daily walks would be great too. They'd help me tone up and lose a little, ummm, softness - plus I find them relaxing as they burn off my working dog energy.
Every now and then I get a seasonal dermatitis flare-up - about every 12 - 18 months. A course of medication fixes it and then I'm fine again.
