Cookie

Cookie has a confident and outgoing personality, always exploring the environment around her. This little girl is super special as she is deaf, so not your average pup.

She enjoys spending time with humans and other doggy companions. Cookie is highly energetic and needs lots of stimulating toys and activities to keep her busy, but during her down time loves a cuddle.

Cookie has recently realised she enjoys playing in water and doesn’t mind having a bath - what a plus! She currently calls a soft crate her bed. She finds this to be a ‘safe space’ where she’s been sleeping really well and putting herself to bed when needed.

When Cookie first came into care she was completely unresponsive to noise. We were told her hearing could improve in the coming weeks. At this stage we have seen a small amount of improvement but not much. Cookie has an upcoming vet appointment to determine the status of her hearing.

Being deaf is no set-back for Cookie. Deaf puppies are trained with visual hand signals instead of vocal commands. Puppy school, your local vet and Pawfect Pals will all be here to help if you have any questions or are after any guidance.

Due to being deaf she will require slightly more work than a puppy with hearing, but the bond she will share with you will be like no other. As she can’t hear, Cookie needs to be able to see you when you want her to come to you. cookie has been in care with dogs of all sizes and would happily be a companion to another dog.

This little cuddle monster loves to be around people so would benefit from a family who intends to spend lots of time with her and include her in family activities.
