Muffin ~ Chihuahua (on trial 20/1/19)

If it be true that the meek shall inherit the earth, when that time comes you can rely on this little dog to be right up there at the front. Muffin is a 10 year old male long haired Chihuahua. He is the original meek and mild Clark Kent of the dog world. Presently in the prime of his life, he is a handsome animal and aware of it. He has a good appetite and enjoys good health.

But he does need more than a bit of Assertiveness Training. He appears to have a bit of bother with his self confidence and assurance. The little bloke is presently living with from 4 to 6 other small dogs but has some difficulty in standing up for his rights within the pack.

He is an experienced walker and enjoys his daily meander around the suburb. He takes an intelligent interest in all the doggy smells he encounters and has good social skills with any other dogs and humans he might meet up with.

We do not consider this little pup to be a suitable child’s pet. A household with boisterous teens would similarly not be recommended. We would believe him to be best suited as an “only dog” in the home of a mature single or couple.

He is jealous of his (rightful) position on the Boss Lady’s lap and occasionally shows a bit of verbal aggression to any others who might wish to usurp his throne. In the short time he has been in care, he has bonded closely with the Lady of the House. He is her shadow; where she goes, he goes – two doggy steps behind.

One on one, he has a lovely friendly nature, and nothing would make him more happy than to have some (preferably no longer young) lady with the time and inclination to sit and nurse him on her lap all day and to whisper sweet nothings in his ear. ‘Twould be utter Paradise for this little boy.

Muffin has already had two different homes in his short life and perhaps this has more than a bit to do with his somewhat anxious nature. He is now looking for his third. We would like to think there is somebody out there prepared to restore his confidence and bring some stability to the rest of his days.

He is a lovely and affectionate little animal who will reward any owner with a dog’s lifetime of faithful devotion.
