About Nyx
Nyx - named after the Greek Goddess of the Night, she started as shadowy and elusive as her name sake. She was part of the original Halloween litter from Mumma Midnight, caught by a lady from under a house at about 4-5 weeks old. This scared and sassy kitten didn’t let us touch her for weeks without hissing, spitting and scratching. She constantly hid and as soon as we entered the room she would disappear. We attempted to have her come around to human touch many times, but we feared she was a lost cause. But one day she surprised us and finally let us touch her, and now she loves gentle pats, playing, and will purr like a machine. She will often sit and watch everyone else play and enjoys just sitting by you while you watch TV or relax. She is still quite timid and doesn’t do well with loud noises or sudden movements, and doesn’t really like her head being touched without her offering. She will sometimes hiss at you or something loud but this is her showing her displeasure over something and is not trying to be violent. Her face markings are very unique and we think they make her look a bit like a panda, she has a very soft short coat, and is one of the bigger girls of the litter. She is so beautifully sweet and has won our hearts. She would do well in a quiet household with no children, perhaps some retirees or working adults. She would also do well with one of her sisters, as she often seeks out company and comfort with them, and is quite bonded with both Autumn and Hex. She has been introduced to a gentle bullmastiff but she isn’t too keen on her and prefers just to sit a short distance away and watch her. She must be indoor only.
