About Billy
Billy is a one year old Irish Terrier x Kelpie and he’s now on the look out for a forever home to suit him. Billy is desexed, microchipped, vaccinated and heart worm treated. He is a fit & healthy young man who will love an active lifestyle, though he doesn’t have the manic need for constant exercise that a kelpie would, but if you enjoying going for a run, hike or cycle then he would love to learn to come along with you. He still has a lot of puppy about him, and an adopter should be prepared to help him through minor puppy behaviours.
Billy is a people oriented young man who will love a family, and has grown up around kids. He will love to spend time with his humans and he won’t enjoy being stuck in the backyard by himself, so he’ll need to be included in family activities. He has good manners around the home, is crate trained and is toilet trained. He doesn't bark a lot.
Billy is dog social in most situations, but has experimented with some on lead growling at dogs that approach him, so he’ll need a family with a firm hand that are unwilling to accept this behaviour from him and willing to continue the training that we have begun in order to get the best out of him. He has enjoyed going to doggy daycare and done well there with the other dogs. He would enjoy a calm doggy sibling at home, and would be ok to live with a confident cat (though he might chase a scaredy cat if it ran). He is untested with pocket pets or livestock.
Billy is a sweet boy who is eager to please will make a lovely addition to an active family. If that could be you, email us at caninelifeline@hotmail.com for an application form.
Medical notes
Billy suffers a minor amount of seasonal itching but otherwise has no major medical requirements.
