About Quora ~ Wolfhound X (on trial 5/12/18)
Meet 12 month old QUORA (legendary Mongolian name for female wolf) pronounced Kwora. She took to her name instantly and comes when called. Quora is a Wolfhound X. We like to think the X is with a teddy bear because that’s what she is to us. She just adores cuddles and does a funny little dance like a teddy bear. Quora makes a great inside dog. She does not run around wildly instead she slowly and softly pads her way around the house and would rather just curl up with anyone and sleep.
We are not sure of Quora’s past so unfortunately, she is a little scared of males and her usually happy tail will instantly disappear between her legs as she lets out a growl or bark. This settles down after introduction and a few pats. The good in this is she makes a great guard dog letting you know if someone unfamiliar is around.
Quora is very wary around other dogs and is happy just to have a sniff and carry on. She can feel a little threatened when on lead but plays happily with other dogs off lead.
Both the above scaredy-cat behaviours are on the improve after a lot of mingling with other people, dogs, patience and perseverance.
The Wolfhound is known for its laziness. She is happy to lounge around all day but also loves to go for a lengthy stroll. She is great to walk on a lead not pulling at all just walking along gently.
Quora just loves bones and has the whitest teeth to show for it. She does dig holes when bored so someone with a large yard that a small hole doesn’t matter or someone with a lot of patience to train her out of it. We are currently trialling a few different things hopefully one will work.
If you love the scruffy look of the Wolfhound breed you will be proud of her beautiful scruffy, honey coloured coat. She gets lots of comments on it when at the dog park.
Quora would suit a mature woman who would have a lot of time to spare for her or a young family as she is very soft and gentle but again both would have to be very patient with her garden worm digging.
