About Mr Peabody (CaV18-383)
Introducing Mr Peabody! This handsome and unusual lad is another from the group of ragdolls we recently received who were saved from an unkind backyard breeder.
This lad is gentle and smoochy once he gets to know you, though it is important that his new family is patient and understands the life Mr P has lived up 'til now.
As a breeding stud, his value to his breeders only came in the form of the babies he could produce. It seems obvious that he didn't have a lot of handling or human interaction and whilst he craves this kind of love, it is taking him some getting used to. Once Mr P is settled in and happy he will be the most loyal and loving companion you can possibly think of! It's just important to remember that he isn't going to walk into your home and immediately settle. Mr Peabody hasn't lived the life of a 'normal' cat so adjusting to home life might just take him some time.
Mr P is VERY LOUD when he feels like it! He doesn't seem to be a cat who chats to you all the time, but he does have a habit of producing a meow that sort of turns into a yowl and sounds like he's either in a lot of pain or about to make someone else be in a lot of pain... except he's not! It's just his tone.
Mr P is neat and tidy with his litter tray and he doesn't eat much but isn't too fussy. He has not scratched or lashed out at anyone, though occasionally his first reaction to new people is a hiss.
Mr Peabody will likely be best suited to a calm and quiet home where he will be kept totally indoors. He needs a new family who will both give him space and also force their affection on him in controlled amounts.
Mr Peabody doesn't seem to get on well with other cats. Males are more of an issue than the ladies, but if you have any existing kitties at home then a slow and steady introduction will be essential. He has had very limited exposure to dogs so if you do have canine, family members they will need to be calm and respectful around cats and a slow and steady intro will be essential.
Small children aren't Mr P's cup of tea.
If you can offer this handsome lad the first real home he's ever had, we would love to hear from you!!
(Yes, Mr Peabody has recently been shaved. His coat was horribly matted in some parts and in others he was pulling it out due to stress so we decided to give him a fresh start).
Mr Peabody is an endearing, unique, affectionate, loving lad just waiting to burst out of the shell that he has been forced to live in through the actions of callous humans.
If you have the perfect place for Mr Peabody, please get in touch ASAP!
Adoption details
Thank you for taking the time to view one of our lovely animals. We love them all and we hope you will too.
If you would like to know more about an animal please call Freedom on 0409 000 259. If it sounds like you and the furry creature are a suitable match then we will pass on the foster carer’s details to you so you can call and make a time to meet them.
Once you have met the animal and wish to go further then we may organise a yard check to ensure that your yard is safe and secure (dogs only). You can then take your new family member home on a 2 week trial and if you decide they are not suitable then you can return them.
If you are not sure how existing animals in your home might be affected, or you want a little extra time to get to know the nature of the animal, we may allow you to foster with a view to adopt.
