About Nelson
Correcting An Injustice Done to Nelson....
On the day that I rescued Nelson from the pound, I believe I painted him as a rather loud and demanding teenager.... I now realise that his show of exuberance was simply relief at finding himself free again.
The truth is that he has presented himself as the gentlest and most placid little fellow.... He loves to be cuddled and returns any affection with lots of love and gratitude. He is also such a clever boy who is learning quickly in an effort to please his carers.
I think that Nelson is going to be a wonderful companion who will enjoy being included in all the family activities... he will be great with kids and other animals so is a total "all-rounder."

Nelson Makes Sure Everyone Knows Him!!!
Little Nelson was ecstatic to be free from his cage at the pound this afternoon..... However, he wanted to run free and he wanted to play so sitting waiting at the vet for vaccinations wasn't on his agenda.... He was quite vocal about his dissatisfaction so by the time we left the vet, I believe everyone was very much aware of who Nelson was.....
I was beginning to think I should have called him "Squawk". Luckily he is still a puppy and such a good-looking fellow, he was able to get away with his crazy antics.... He did actually sit fairly quietly as the vet checked him over but he made up for it when I put him in the car while I went back to collect the paperwork.... a total tantrum to the amusement of one and all.
However, when I left him with the foster carer (thanks Tami), he was busy running around making friends with the furry foster buddies and exploring his new surrounds with lots of enthusiasm. I think Nelson will have lots of spirit and I couldn't help thinking of Nelson Mandela when I realised what a strong character our new addition has.
