About Scout ~ Lab x German Shepherd (on trial 20/11/18)
Hi, I’m Scout and I’m a 15 week old, male, Labrador X German Shepherd puppy. I’m smart, loving and friendly and I’m such a gorgeous boy!
My foster mum says I’m a very smart boy for my age. In the week that she’s had me I’ve learnt sit, shake, down, roll over, wait for my food and the word “no”. I love my food, particularly treats, which makes training easy. My foster mum calls me her shadow but I don’t really know what that means - I think it means that I’m such a great helper because I like to do everything that she is doing. I’m in the middle of toilet training and I’m kind of getting the hang of it. During the night I get to sleep in my foster carer’s room, I’m still getting up twice a night to go to the toilet and I haven’t had an accident during the night (impressive, hey!). I’m really good in the car and I’m learning how to walk on a lead.
My foster mum say’s that I would need to go to a home with another dog, particularly if my new owners worked full-time. I love hanging out with my doggy foster brother, during the day. I would need to go to someone with an active lifestyle who will include me in their lives and take me on adventures. When my new owners are home, I would really love to be able to come inside and be part of the family with you. I haven’t met a cat yet or any other animals. I haven’t been around children or babies before, but my mum thinks with consistent training I would be a “very good boy”.
A note from my foster mum:
Scout will grow up to be a large dog. We always recommend puppy training classes to give your new family member the best start in life. All dogs and puppies need plenty of affection, exercise, and training.
Scout will need a friendly adult dog as a teacher, companion and playmate as he would be too lonely on his own. He has been well socialised with other puppies and loves to hang out with other dogs.
Scout will need to be welcomed inside when people are home, and to sleep inside unless there is another dog that sleeps outside. He will be a wonderful family dog. You will need good fencing with no small gaps, unfortunately rural fencing (eg: mesh or wire) is not suitable.
As Scout is not yet desexed, he is only available for adoption to Newcastle, Lake Macquarie, Singleton, Central Coast and Port Stephens because he'll need to be returned to one of our vets for desexing when he is approximately 5 months old.
To apply to meet Scout, please fill in our online Adoption Questionnaire:
https://tinyurl.com/drnadopt. If you have questions please contact his foster carer Samantha by email samantha.cassel@hotmail.com. Scout is in care in the Newcastle area, NSW.
Scout's adoption fee is $700 and includes his desexing, vaccinations and microchipping and he has been treated for fleas and worms.
Medical notes
Happy and healthy boy.
