About Lilly ~ Cattle x BC (on trial 17/11/18)
Lilly is a gorgeous, 10 month old Cattle x Border Collie. She is a loving, intelligent girl and has the cutest head tilt you have ever seen. She is energetic and playful but also loves cuddling up with you in the evening.
Lilly is very smart and learns quickly. She’s toilet trained and comes when called. She does not venture far when off the lead and always returns when told. Lilly is also getting the hang of returning to her mat with the command ‘on your mat’ when she’s inside. Lilly is good on the lead and excellent to run with on the lead. She will pull when excited, such as approaching other dogs and people. She would be great with some more training and practice.
Lilly sleeps inside and is very good inside, not chewing or destroying anything. She is happy outside or in and is quiet during the day, mostly sleeping and playing with toys. If she is bored then she sometimes digs a bit outside. Lilly ramps up in the afternoon when she is looking forward to her walk or play time. She loves her walks/runs and also loves to play ball. She will fit in well in an active household. As she is still young and growing, Lilly shouldn’t be going for very long runs yet but will soon be able to increase distance if you are looking for a running partner.
Lilly is very affectionate. She loves cuddles and pats, especially cuddles on the couch at night while watching tv. She also loves lying in a beanbag while watching tv. Lilly gets on well with other dogs and would be happy to have a friendly dog for a playmate. We are not sure how she would go with cats or pocket pets.
Lilly can get a little anxious or overwhelmed around new people or lots of children and would be best in a home without children (unless older) and without many children visiting. Reassurance and pats help if she is a little anxious with visitors. Particularly on walks it helps to get her to sit and pat/reassure her while people/dogs pass.
Lilly has lived with small children but she can be too rough and boisterous and will sometimes knock them over and lick them which can scare the children. She really is a great dog, just not ideal for a family with young children, or in situations where she is interacting with new kids all the time.
Lilly really is a lovely, smart dog and deserves a wonderful life with a kind and loving owner.
For more information or to meet Lilly, please contact Sharron by emailing sstudley3@bigpond.com. She is in care in the Newcastle area, NSW and is not available for adoption interstate.
Lilly’s adoption fee is $500 and she is desexed, vaccinated, treated for fleas and worms, microchipped, and lifetime registered. You can see the adoption process and all of our available dogs at www.dogrescuenewcastle.com.au

(2) If the questionnaire is approved you can arrange to meet the pet, usually at the foster carer's home or nearby.
(3) If that goes well we will arrange a property check so we can verify that your home and yard are suitable for the pet you've selected. We will ask to see photo ID.
(4) If both sides agree, then you can pay for and adopt your new family member! The two week trial begins on the day of adoption. More details of our Adoption Procedure on our website: https://tinyurl.com/adoptproc
