About Posh (CaV18-381)
Posh by name and posh by nature!
I'm a very pretty, dainty little lass looking for a loving home of my very own.
I have previously been used as a breeding cat and was rescued with a number of other ragdolls, from a breeder who neglected us and seemed to only care about the money we could make by producing more kittens.
I'm quite lucky and have been cared for much better than a number of my friends who were saved with me. I'm in good physical condition and am not matted or underweight.
I am quite a shy girl at first and am apprehensive with new people. I haven't lived a 'normal' life like most pet cats have and haven't really been treated as part of the family. I think it sounds really wonderful to be valued, respected and loved for who you are as an individual instead of just for the babies you can produce. So I'm really looking forward to getting my new start in life.
I am a purebred ragdoll, but my new family needs to understand that just because my breed is known for being floppy and cuddly, doesn't mean I'll be like that straight away (or maybe ever!) I'm definitely affectionate and have lots of love to give, but I'll need patience and time to help me settle in.
My new family must be willing to keep me 100% indoors or in a secure cat run.
I may be compatible with another cat, but you'll need to introduce us slowly. I've never lived with dogs before and they seem a bit scary. But if your dog is very calm and will respect my personal space, maybe we can learn to get along.
I also haven't lived with children. I don't scratch or hiss and I think I would be okay to live with children but again, I'll need patience and space to start with.
The past couple of weeks have been pretty stressful for me so I'm keen to find my new perfect home pretty soon, but I'll wait for the right one. My new life starts now and I want it to only be upwards from here if possible!
Adoption details
Thank you for taking the time to view one of our lovely animals. We love them all and we hope you will too.
If you would like to know more about an animal please call Freedom on 0409 000 259. If it sounds like you and the furry creature are a suitable match then we will pass on the foster carer’s details to you so you can call and make a time to meet them.
Once you have met the animal and wish to go further then we may organise a yard check to ensure that your yard is safe and secure (dogs only). You can then take your new family member home on a 2 week trial and if you decide they are not suitable then you can return them.
If you are not sure how existing animals in your home might be affected, or you want a little extra time to get to know the nature of the animal, we may allow you to foster with a view to adopt.
