About Billy
Darling Billy boy is an 18 month old boxer cross and came to us as a dog unlike any we have seen before at the rescue. We don’t know for sure what his story is, but suspect there has been some terrible abuse at some stage in his young life. We are hopeful that there will be a happy ending for him, as he is a dog that truly deserves one.
Billy entered rescue completely terrified of humans, and it has taken weeks of patience, perseverance and consistency to be able to gain enough trust from him to even touch him. He has been living with his foster family for four weeks now, and is slowly but surely emerging from his shell, where his wonderful personality is finally shining through.
Billy loves other dogs and has spent his days in foster running around and playing in the garden with his foster brother and sister (both young kelpies). As such, a family with another sociable dog is deemed a necessity for adoption, as this helps reduce his anxiety, builds his confidence and allows him to learn normal human/dog interactions.
He will also need ongoing dog training, preferably with a trainer in the early stages, as this will allow his adoption family to be supported on this journey, and ensure that Billy continues to be rehabilitated to his full potential.
We are committed to showing Billy that there is no need for fear in his future, only love and happiness. With the right family we feel the rewards of providing this sweet boy with a loving and safe home will be returned tenfold.
