About "Philip", Confident and Curious. Melbourne
Despite being new to foster care, Philip has already achieved what most greyhounds only dream of – stealing a whole bag of cheese! This gently curious boy has a talent for sniffing out whatever is most interesting, whether it's unguarded food, or children's soft toys that look just right for playing with. It's all part of his confident, seize-the-moment attitude to life, and his determination to enjoy being a pet to the maximum.
Philip is a relaxed boy, spending most of his time on his bed, or checking out what everyone is doing. He thinks everyone is his friend, including dogs both big and small, and will be happiest living with any sort of canine companion. The exception is cats – he's a little too curious about them to live with one. Philip has settled beautifully into indoor living (except for some petty thievery), and likes going up and down the stairs for no reason, just to show he can! He has an old leg injury that bothers him sometimes, but is getting stronger every day.
Caramel-coloured Philip is gorgeous to look at, and even nicer to cuddle, or walk on his lead. He's now ready to achieve the most important dream of every rescued greyhound – finding the special human who will give him a home.

Adoption details
Dogs are pack animals and Greyhounds, in particular, are very familiar with being surrounded by other dogs in their racing kennel environment. For this reason, when left alone without people or other dogs for company, they can be prone to separation anxiety which can manifest in destructive and/or noisy behaviour. Yes, they may "grow out" of it after a few weeks in their new home, but why put the dog through that stress to ultimately live all day alone, while everyone is at work? As a result we do not rehome dogs into households where they are left on their own for more than 4 hours per day, without either people or another dog for company.
