About Family Dog Bindi!
Bindi is a beautiful natured girl who's cuddly, fun loving and adores people. She does have her energy bursts but generally just wants to hang with you, with a daily leisurely walk and occasional run at the beach or dog park.
She's currently living with two senior staffies who she's very respectful of but would love a doggy pal who's younger and able to have a bit of rough and tumble with. She also has a free-roaming horse and chooks outside her yard and has shown no interest in the horse however has had a little chase of the chooks, nothing serious but we would recommend her not being housed with birds just in case. There are cats in one part of her foster home that she sees through the door and is not particularly fixated on, but given they're also fun to chase its best she have a home with doggy fur-friends only.
Bindi has been around young kids and is fine with them but is a fairly big girl with some bounciness when excited so older kids with a bit of dog experience would be best. She walks well on lead, has great door manners, great car manners and is quick to respond when corrected for any sillyness. She knows sit, shake and stay, and although she'd love nothing more than to hop in your bed with you, will happily sleep on her own bed as long as she can be near you. She will wake you gently if she needs to be let outside for a night wee.
She does have quite the fence jumping ability so will need high fences and to not live near a main road just in case she learns this in her new home. She hasn't always done it in foster care but once she learnt she could scale a particular gate (even after it was extended) she has continued to do so and runs around the property trying to figure out how to catch rabbits. This is usually harmless but she doesn't have alot of road sense and is cheeky and reluctant to come back immediately. The gate she's scaling is soon to be replaced with a section of 'temporary fencing' to see if she still attempts to jump either in that space or any other.
The only other thing with this darling is she needs to be separated from other dogs at dinner time but this is completely manageable (and ideally would be worked on long term in her forever home).
With a little bit of focus on helping her settle in, Bindi is going to make a wonderful family dog. To arrange a meet pls send us some information about your home and lifestyle via our online form at the link below in 'Adoption Details' and we'll get back to you asap :)
