Jax is a gorgeous 8 year old Black and White Long Haired Border Collie!
Do not think for a minute that Jax is a senior dog! He is as agile and as playful as any much younger dog. He knows when to play and when to chill. Being a very smart dog with some obvious training in his past, he also has great recall.
Jax loves walks, car rides, catching balls, playing tug, playing with other dogs and he especially loves water, in particular games with the hose.
He is a loyal, loving family friend and has lived with very small dogs, big dogs, both female and male. He loves children even small ones and happily resides with cats.
Jax would love to find a new life where he is given mental and physical stimulation such as a working breed dog like border collies needs. He will also need to have his medium to long coat brushed regularly to keep it looking great. Jax will need secure fencing and could be happy in either suburban or acreage property.
Jax is very gentle, polite, playful and loving, and he does not bark apart from rare occasions. Jax is a total gem and will be a wonderful addition to the right active home.

Adoption details
~ ADOPTION PROCESS ~
STEP 1: An Adoption application MUST be filled out prior to the meet and greet with the animal.
** PLEASE NOTE: WE DO NOT DO INTERSTATE ADOPTIONS ** We require all animals to have a meet & greet with their new family before they are officially adopted, no exceptions. If you are willing and able to meet the dog in person, we are happy to accomodate the adoption.
STEP 2: If successful, our foster carer will be in touch within 24-48 hours.
STEP 3: A 'Meet & Greet' with the animal and their carer will then take place. You must bring your current dog along to the meet and greet if you are meeting another dog/puppy, this is to ensure they get along before commencing adoption. If meeting a cat we do not recommend brining your current dog/cat as this may stress the cat/kitten out.
STEP 4: The animal MUST not be taken on the day unless PRIOR ARRANGED (travelling over a 4 hr round trip), we will NOT ACCEPT the animal to be taken on the day if less then 2 days notice is given. If prior arrangement is made, an adoption agreement/s and payment must be made before collection of the animal.
STEP 5: A 10 day trial period commences once the animal has been collected from the foster carer.
STEP 6: The Adoption is the finalised after 14 days and paperwork is sent via email after this period. Please note this can take up to 4 weeks pending on the microchip paperwork.
Sorry we can’t take calls, as our rescue is run entirely by volunteers, but we endeavour to respond to your email within 24 - 48 hours. Your patience is greatly appreciated.
** PLEASE NOTE: WE DO NOT HOLD ANY ANIMALS SO PLEASE ONLY APPLY IF YOU ARE READY TO ADOPT NOW. **
