About Fudge ~ Maltese x Poodle (on trial 8/11/18)
This is Fudge an 11 year old apricot Maltese x Poodle. He weighs about 8kgs. Fudge is a chilled little man who likes nothing more than to be with you and sit on your lap when he can. He is obedient and loves to play with my two poodles.
Fudge is toilet trained and travels well in the car. He sleeps beautifully at night. Fudge has a non shedding coat which needs a good brush every few days.
Fudge can be reactive while on a leash to other dogs and bike riders. I overcome this by going for walks where I know there aren’t any triggers for this behaviour. He does bark and sometimes growl at people who come to the door. If the other dogs get in his face and overstep the boundaries he will give them a gentle growl for them to back off.
Fudge is a beautiful little man with sooky eyes which will melt your heart. He was surrendered to us through no fault of his own. He was originally owned by someone who developed dementia and then moved owners several times until he found a safe place with Dog Rescue Newcastle.
Fudge maybe over 11 years old but he certainly doesn’t look it or act like it. His general health is good. His history shows he might suffer from a mild separation anxiety at first when left alone. I have not seen this, but he is with a few other dogs. Groomer indicated he isn’t a fan of having his ears touched. Fudge loves his food, maybe a little too much sometimes. He could lose a little weight.
I would love Fudge to go to a home where someone is home most of the time. A retired couple or person would be perfect for Fudge. Fudge could be an only dog or live happily with another little dog who would give him company. He is definitely an inside dog and likes to sleep where he can see you at night. Fudge has been rehomed too many times in his senior years and deserves a loving stable home to live out his retirement years.
Whoever adopts this darling boy will get a loyal companion who gives you unconditional love and trust. All he wants is to be loved and safe.
