Meet beautiful Kima (Apache for Butterfly). Named as such, because she was as fragile when rescued from the bush around Broken Hill emaciated at half her normal body weight.
After 4 weeks in care – what a change she has made both physically and mentally. Kima has embraced the many changes in her environment of late and has adapted well to her much higher standard of living. Not only is she the most beautiful girl – she is goofy, smart, cheeky, curious, affectionate and independent.
She is approximately 2-3 years in age, has had no initial training but being very food motivated has demonstrated her keenness to learn – mastering sit and wait for food very quickly. She is house trained, crate trained and toilet trained. She doesn’t jump up and is generally pretty chilled, enjoying relaxing in the backyard sun. She has a tall and slim build whose normal weight should be roughly 36kg – and currently she weighs in at 33kg. Most crucial to Kima’s wellbeing is a family or owner who has the time and patience to nurture building her confidence with day to day experiences in and outside the home. She requires slow introductions to new environments as she is unsure of loud noises and fast street scenes. Kima would prefer to have access to her crate inside at night but is happy to spend her days outside as long as there is shelter.
She adores company – both of the 2 legged and 4 legged variety and prefers to be homed with a family where someone is home most of the time or in a household with another dog. She has made best buddies with her foster brothers and has greeted other dogs out on walks well. She has also been well mannered around my 4 year old daughter.
Kima is such a gentle soul and would be a lovely addition to a family household that isn’t too loud or busy with life. She has come leaps and bounds in her 3 weeks spent with her foster family I have no doubt that with the “right “type of love that her inner strength will continue to blossom and that she will be able to enjoy fully - all facets of a “great dog’s life”. She is one dog that definitely deserves the best care in the best home
She has not been tested around cats, chooks or other small and fluffies.
