About Matilda
G'day, my name is Matilda
I am 16 months old and very much a pup at heart. Humans who meet me say they love my big, warm, brown eyes and how soft my fur is.
My favourite activity in the whole world is fetching tennis balls. I love them. I am also very good at snoozing... mostly outside in the sun or inside on the carpet.
My favourite time of the day is first thing in the morning when the alarm clock goes off. Even if it is still dark outside, I immediately jump out of my bed with a little squeal and come to the bedside to say GOOD MORNING with my happy face and waggly tail.
I am a very fast learner. I am toilet trained. I obey basic commands and walk like a (lady) boss on the lead. My foster family work full-time, but spend the majority of their free time with me. I walk the neighbourhood between 5 and 10km a day. Like most pups, if this isn't maintained, when I am unsupervised I feel boredom creep in and tend to be a bit destructive. Despite having lots of toys to play with, anything in the backyard is fair game for me to nibble on.
Sometimes when I get very excited I nibble on humans, but gradually I am learning this is not appreciated. It would be best I go to a home with high school aged children or without children because I can still get a bit silly when I'm excited. I am also prone to be talkative, again, especially when I am excited...
My 'forever home' will need to have no other pets. I had a traumatic experience with other dogs before coming into care here and so I am a bit unsure about them now and I don't like cats. I will need someone/s who will continue my socialisation with other dogs, continue my training and want to spend lots of time with me so I can grow into being the best version of myself.
I hope to hear from you :-D
**Application Process** When on the Pet Rescue profile push the "enquire about this pet" button. Follow the prompts and in the message section please place information about the home you can provide. This includes current/past pets and their breed, children, and any other information relevant to training/exercise/energy requirements. We aim to reply to all applications within 5 business days. Please note all of our dog meet and greets occur at the adoption center in Campbellfield. The majority of our dogs are in a foster home not at the shelter so you need to apply via the website to meet them. Thank you. www.secondchanceanimalrescue.com.au ...because they all deserve one!
