About Boston ~ 8 month old Kelpie (on trial 1/12/18)
I’m Boston! I’m black and beautiful, mostly Kelpie, about 8 months old. I’m special in a lot of ways but one of them is that I was born with a club foot. I don’t have toes on my right front foot, but I do have a pad – my toes on the other front foot are a bit different too but that doesn’t stop me being the cutest pup you will meet.
So, I’m a pretty neat package. I’m on the small side for Kelpie - weighing in at about 16kg. My feet being a bit different means I’m not a digger – and that’s not a bad thing! Because of my foot, I can’t do super-long walks in one go - we’d need to stop and smell the roses on the way.
I can sit for the right reward. I haven’t had much training but my foster Mum says I’m pretty smart – she rates that on how long it takes a dog to work out that the side gate opens inwards when we’re going out for a walk – I remembered second time out!
I have developed an understanding with the resident cat at my foster home – he is very large and bossy so I’ve learnt to keep clear of him – if you have a cat we could meet and I’m sure we could be friends.
I looooove people – so would be super-happy with lots of people contact. I’d need to meet your children before deciding if I was ideally suited to them – maybe not the small ones.
When I came into foster care I was a little bit tentative but now I’m very settled and I like coming inside to relax on the mat. I’m happy sleeping outside in a kennel or on the back verandah rather than being closed in a room inside.
Dog Rescue Newcastle is looking for a special family to adopt me. You might have a dog friendly dog at home already who won’t pick on my for being a bit different and some humans to give me all the love I deserve. I do need someone to look after me willing to take me as I am. I do have a disability so please be aware I might have future issues with my paws.

(2) If the questionnaire is approved you can arrange to meet the pet, usually at the foster carer's home or nearby.
(3) If that goes well we will arrange a property check so we can verify that your home and yard are suitable for the pet you've selected. We will ask to see photo ID.
