About Boss (CaV18-270)
Hello my name is Boss but that makes me sound like a big tough guy and I'm actually the sweetest cuddliest smoochiest marshmallow you will ever meet! All I want is love and pats and cuddles, non-stop 24/7. I love to purr and smooch and roll over for tummy rubs and I REALLY love to make puddings on nice soft blankets.
Did I mention I also have the most adorable face with my spotty black nose??
I love absolutely everyone - I'm good with other cats, dogs and children. The world does startle and scare me a bit sometimes so I appreciate having a safe place like a special bed or room at home, that I can retreat to when I'm otherwise a bit overwhelmed. But most of the time the world is just a glorious place full of people who want to pat me!!
It feels like no one wants to adopt me, which is really sad :(
I wonder if it is maybe because I am not physically 100% perfect? But every cat is unique and I'm no different. There are a couple of things to know about me:
1. I have a heart murmur. It's something to do with how my blood is pumped around. It's not exactly a good thing, but it's not the end of the world either! I've survived this far and I didn't have any complications when I recently went under anaesthetic to be desexed, which is great news. It doesn't require medication or special care at this time. Chat to my foster carer for more info!
2. I'm FIV positive. You might have heard about FIV before - in most cases, it's really no big deal! It's the precursor to an immune deficiency. I probably contracted it getting beaten up by some other tom cat (which is why desexing is SO important!) It isn't associated with my heart murmur and shouldn't affect my heart it any way. It does mean that i need to be a strictly indoor-only kitty cat, but that's okay since all I want to do is be loved and patted and cuddled up on the couch all day!
I can live with other cats because I can no longer spread FIV through mating (after having the big snip!) and I'm also not going to spread it through fighting since I'm the biggest softie ever.
My foster mum and fostered over 400 cats and kittens this year and she says I'm one of the very best, which is pretty impressive really!
A lot of people think I'm not the prettiest cat around and other people are put off because I'm not perfect. But I'm a living, breathing, real kitty and none of us - especially rescues! - are perfect in every way. My purrsonality is definitely a 10/10 though! A meet and greet with me absolutely won't disappoint. What are you waiting for?!
Adoption details
Thank you for taking the time to view one of our lovely animals. We love them all and we hope you will too.
If you would like to know more about an animal please call Freedom on 0409 000 259. If it sounds like you and the furry creature are a suitable match then we will pass on the foster carer’s details to you so you can call and make a time to meet them.
Once you have met the animal and wish to go further then we may organise a yard check to ensure that your yard is safe and secure (dogs only). You can then take your new family member home on a 2 week trial and if you decide they are not suitable then you can return them.
If you are not sure how existing animals in your home might be affected, or you want a little extra time to get to know the nature of the animal, we may allow you to foster with a view to adopt.
