About Ash
Hey everyone, my name is Ash and it is an absolute pleasure to meet you. If you're looking for a cat that has a lot of love to give, I am probably your guy! My foster mum says 'good cats are hard to find' and that whoever adopts me will be the luckiest humans in the world. I sure do love humans, and all I want is someone to give all my love to. I've had a pretty rough time lately, so I really deserve this chance at love.
I came into care after I was saved from a remote QLD pound. When I arrived, my foster mum was very sad at my appearance. I had hair missing, yucky teeth and sad little eyes, but she also noticed how handsome and sweet I was under that surface. She sat down with me and I slept on her legs for ages and ages, she couldn't move because I was so happy and purring, have I mentioned how much I love humans, attention and cuddles? Even the vets fell in love with me. They thought I was pretty sweet and spunky!
I was taken straight to the vet when I came into care to be desexed, microchipped, vaccinated, worm/flea treated and to have a yucky canine tooth pulled out that was hurting me. You may see in some of my photos that my lip curls up where the tooth was pulled - everyone comments that it just adds to my looks and charm!
There is just one more thing you need to know about me. When I was getting my vet work done, I was also tested for FIV/FELV. My FIV test came back positive, which explained my ragged experience. Don't be put off by this though, I am still the handsome, adoring boy that I am, I just need an extra special home. I require a home where I will be indoors only, and with no other cats. FIV positive cats can live with other cats peacefully, but I much prefer to not share my humans and get a little jealous. I just want you all to myself. Apart from having Feline Immunodeficiency Virus, I really am an amazing boy. Being the older, wiser, more mature fella that I am, you don't have to worry about any shenanigans with me. I am clean, always use my litter and will always respect you, but maybe not your personal space so much.
So, if you're looking for an older cat that really deserves a chance at love, please think of me <3
Medical notes
I am FIV Positive. What is FIV?
Feline Immunodeficiency Virus (FIV) is a viral disease which affects the immune system of domestic cats. Whilst FIV cannot be transferred to humans, it acts in the same way as the human form of HIV, destroying the immune system and leaving a cat susceptible to infections and disease. Once the cat has been infected, FIV can then progress to feline acquired immunodeficiency syndrome, otherwise known as Feline AIDs.
Apart from this disease, I am a happy, healthy cat with no other health issues. I am expected to live a long and happy life
Adoption details
To enquire about an animal available for adoption, please contact us via Facebook or send an email to bellevieanimalrescue@gmail.com. We will respond within 48 hours and send a questionnaire for you to complete.
Applications are not approved on a first in, best dressed basis, rather we will assess on your suitability. Should we believe that the animal you have applied for may not suit your home or lifestyle, we will work with you until we find your perfect match.
Upon approval of your application, we will organise a mutually convenient time and location to do the meet and greet. If the meet is successful, there will be an adoption contract to complete and sign and the full adoption amount is required unless previously organised with Belle Vie Animal Rescue. Your adoption pack will include a copy of the contract for you, all vet work and a microchip change of ownership form, which will be filled out and submitted by BVAR at the end of the adoption trial.
