About Kevin and Mya
Introducing 2 beautiful girls, Kevin and Mya. Yes! Kevin is a girl! :)
These very sweet girls came to us a while back with a number of other dogs and were placed in the same foster home. During these moves, both girls had been quite timid and unsure. We noticed that they have stuck together through everything and created a very special bond which is why we now believe it is important for both of them to move onto their next chapter together. They adore each other and are always by each other's side. Even when they had their vet work done, we requested that they be kept together in the same enclosure and everyone agreed they were happier that way.
Kevin (white) is a Poodle x Cavalier - Date of Birth:13/10/2015. Kevin can be a little nervous with new people but is easily persuaded with some gentle pats and allowed time to approach when she feels comfortable. Once she knows she is safe, you will have a little buddy who is never too far away.
Kevin is extremely sweet, gentle and placid. She loves affection, best suited to older children who are happy to give her personal space, no issues at all with cats, great with dogs as long as she can be given a slow and relaxed introduction.
Kevin has been diagnosed with Grade 2/4 Medial Patella Luxation. Please see medical notes for further information.
Mya (black & tan) is a Tibetan Spaniel x Cavalier - Date of Birth: 22/4/2015. She has a very quiet and adoring personality. Like Kevin, Mya can be shy at first. She will slowly approach when she is ready and once she has had a couple of pats, you will be friends for life.
Mya has a cheeky, lovable nature that shines through once she feels safe. She is fine with cats and other small animals, loves the company of other dogs but des prefer to have her own space when meeting them.
These girls are both quite skittish so a home a calm, relaxed environment with no young children/grandchildren will be ideal for them.
While they have been with us, Kevin and Mya have been living as indoor dogs. They enjoy being inside where they are close to their people but also love the opportunity for a good run and roll in the grass so will need a medium yard so they have room for their antics. Secure fencing will also be important to keep the girls safe and secure while they are settling into their new space. Having each other means their people can be gone through the day and they will be content in each other's company.
We will be recommending training for these girls as they only have very basic training. They are well behaved but some simple skills will definitely help them understand what their people are asking of them.
Regular walks and exercise will be a must for these girls to keep them in healthy shape and condition. Regular brushes and grooming will also be required to keep their coats in good condition and trimmed to keep them cooler over the warmer months.
Medical notes
Kevin has been diagnosed with Grade 2/4 Medial Patella Luxation. This means that Kevin can potentially have early onset of arthritis. There are a few surgery procedures that can be performed but they are usually reserved for cases with more sever luxation that Kevin is displaying.
We, along with the veterinary practitioner would be happy to discuss further.
Kevin also had a hernia removed when she underwent surgery for desexing. She has now fully recovered from this.
Adoption details
If you think one of our animals would be a good match for your home please email us and we will be in touch shortly after. We all work fulltime, have families and other commitments so your patience is appreciated.
We do require any other dogs in your home meeting our foster animal before they head home with you. This enables us to assess their compatibility and helps prevent them being returned and creating more confusion/insecurities for the foster animal.
All our animals are available for a two week trial with full refund. They are also covered by a lifetime return policy. If you ever find yourself unable to care for or keep your pet please contact us and they will come back into our care, this is a condition of our Adoptions.
